The Battlepack 45L is our most popular backpack for many good reasons. To start It's a versatile size great for the gym, day hikes or other adventures (meets most airline carry on requirements). Various internal and external pockets to keep things in order including a padded compartment which fits up to a 17" laptop. Made with our signature hemp blend canvas which is naturally anti-microbial, breathable, durable, and sustainable.

Care
Bag Care: You will likely never need to wash your Datsusara bag as hemp stays naturally clean due to it's antimicrobial and breathing properties. In case you do we recommend you only hand wash in cold water (cold water prevents material shrinkage) and line dry. It is possible to machine wash the bags but it's tricky and we cannot warranty against damage from machine washing. As for the "Nasty bags" (which are synthetic) we recommend washing them however you like but line dry.
Apparel Care: For apparel you can wash however you want. But don't use any bleach as it weakens the hemp, and do keep in mind the hotter the water and dryer setting the more things will shrink.
For new gis we strongly recommend machine washing at least 2-3 times to prevent shedding of the material which occurs naturally with our 100% hemp gis.
Shipping & Returns
Your order will ship within 24 hours (36 hours for international) Monday-Friday excluding holidays and pre-orders (which ship by the date mentioned on the product's page). A tracking number will be sent to your email once the order ships.
North America & Canada US shipments range from 2-7 days of transit time between express and economy shipping. For Canada expect a few days to a few weeks.
Overseas shipments:
For International orders express options range from around 7-10 days and average around 3 weeks with economy. Also please understand that customs in your country may charge import fees (although we value our shipments at a fraction of their retail cost) and delay the shipment at their discretion. Hence delivery times are estimates and while we can't guarantee a delivery date 99.9% of packages reach their destination.
*We only ship to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Ukraine by special request due to frequent fraudulent orders from these countries.
Warranty
Datsusara provides a 3 year warranty on bags and a 1 year warranty on fightwear or apparel against faulty manufacturing. If your item breaks due to a fault in manufacturing while under warranty we will repair or replace it free of charge. Please do remember this does not cover natural wear and tear as any natural fiber will wear over time, faster if you are rough on your gear. Datsusara reserves the right to refuse any warranty claim that it deems to be the consumers fault due to misuse, such as loading up bags with C4 or practicing Jiu Jitsu with badgers. That being said at our discretion we may offer you our wear and tear discount which starts at 30% for year 1, 20% for year two and 10% for year 3.§
Exchanges & Returns: We accept most products in their original, odor-free, unused or unworn condition (with any tags) for up to 30 days from the date of shipment, exceptions are t-shirts, rash guards and underwear (which cannot be returned for sanitary reasons).
You may either receive store credit or a refund, less all shipping costs and a $1 restock fee per item (please understand that we are a small company and it would hurt us greatly if we had to pay for shipping expenses and restocking costs on non defective returns).

I got my 45L a couple of years ago, and it’s a great bag apart from the shoulder straps. They are stiff and rigid, and have little movement in them making it pretty uncomfortable and constantly slip off shoulder when only using a single strap (which I do most of time). I got my wife the smaller 28L backpack which has material ‘tabs’ connecting the softer straps to the actual bag, which stops the issues I have with the 45. I will eventually replace with the 60L bag as this also has the ‘tab’ system, but I feel this bag might be too large for some European airlines as a carry on. All in all, the 45L is almost perfect in quality, size, and looks great…it’s just let down by the strap design. I don’t know why it would be different to all the other sizes, but this is the only issue I have with these great backpacks. I posted pics of the straps I n both the 28L tabs & the rigid fixed strap of the 45.
Not an exaggeration — prior to owning this bag I was hauling my day’s worth of stuff (change of clothes, towel, gi, a plethora of other items) in tote bags, sometimes multiple tote bags. Now, I carry everything I need for the day and THEN SOME in this bag! I can’t overstate how much I appreciate the size, feel, and various compartments this bag has. Super comfortable, looks good, and incredibly durable. Not to mention the slick all black logo. Steez unmatched. I had a feeling I would enjoy this bag and it has surpassed my expectations. I love the Battlepack from Datsusara. This is my second one and the first one lasted me over 10 years. I beat that thing up too. Took it on a backing trip to Thailand and use it multiple times a week for Jiu Jitsu. On top of all that, it looks like this bag is even more reinforced than the previous one. While other companies are finding ways to maximize profits through worse products, these guys continue to raise the bar.

Use it for BJJ. I can fit 2 Gi's, spare clothing, towel, tote bag and a few other small things without issue. Best part is that it comes with a bag for sweaty clothing which allows for a separation between clean & dirty clothes.
I should also say the bag is comfy to wear so no complaints there

I bought the Battlepack 45L as an upgrade from the Battlepack 28L I've been using for the last 10 years. The small details in the bag and the bigger compartment sizes are much appreciated. Perfect size for competition travel and day-to-day training sessions. Fits my gi as well as no gi gear, workout stuff, and change of clothes. The added nasty bag is a huge plus too
The bag weights too heavy
Sorry the bag is heavy for you. The only way to make it lighter would be to use more synthetic materials or drop out functional pockets and panels. That being the said, we may have a new bag coming later in the year that will be similar size but very simplified and hence also lighter.
This is the 2nd battlepack I have purchased. One for my son for juijitsu and it has room for all his gear. I liked it and ordered one for myself for work. Quality bag with plenty of room and compartments.

I’d been on the fence after seeing one at another gym. Organization is fantastic. Construction and design are great. However, the shoulder straps are quite stiff. I hope the my soften with age.
Needed a new gym bag/weekender bag and to replace my beloved Muay Thai bag of 6 years. I purchased the JRE Battlepack and after 30 days and 2 weekend trips, absolutely love this bag!
I carry to the gym a towel, full change of clothes, a pair of shoes, sandals, a 32 oz bottle and a toiletry bag. Perfect pockets for my wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, earphones, etc. Love this bag!
For Muay Thai, I bring a pair of 14 oz gloves, hand wraps, shorts, change of clothes, bottle of body wipes, towel, same big bottle and sandals. I can see this battlepack packing sleeve like shin guards, but it’s not going to pack all my stuff and the strap thicker shin guards. In all honesty, this is the only reason why I took off 1 star.
But still love this bag as my weekender and everyday gym bag. Might buy a smaller backpack for the daily commute.
I’ve had this bag for over 6 years and it’s still my favorite bag. It fits all my gear and is indestructible.

I got this as a surprise for my husband’s birthday! He’s been using the first Onnit version for almost 10 years now, with everyday use and travels locally and internationally. Good looking bag, perfect for my BJJ-stuff with plenty of room also for work stuff if I come straight from work.
Tough and spacious bag that’s perfect for the gym and travel.
Very well made. Tons of room, and the right placement and volume of pockets for my needs. I can fit shoes focus mitts, and training tools in this bag no problem. Water bottle, mouthguard, towel, laptop, change of clothes and room to spare. The only reason it is not five stars, is that it is made in CCP China and NOT USA.

This is the second pack I have from them, I love how you can open up the entire front flap and load it up like a suitcase. Plenty of room for running shoes, change of clothes, and a small Dopp kit. Look forward to using it for travel to Colorado next week!
