The Spartan Bag is our deluxe hemp version of a cinch sack. It's a simple option for those wanting a light easy to pack bag for sports/gym gear or other adventures. Like the rest of our bag collection, it's made from our signature hemp blend fabric so it's naturally durable, breathable, and antimicrobial—safe for you and the environment.

Care
Bag Care: You will likely never need to wash your Datsusara bag as hemp stays naturally clean due to it's antimicrobial and breathing properties. In case you do we recommend you only hand wash in cold water (cold water prevents material shrinkage) and line dry. It is possible to machine wash the bags but it's tricky and we cannot warranty against damage from machine washing. As for the "Nasty bags" (which are synthetic) we recommend washing them however you like but line dry.
Apparel Care: For apparel you can wash however you want. But don't use any bleach as it weakens the hemp, and do keep in mind the hotter the water and dryer setting the more things will shrink.
For new gis we strongly recommend machine washing at least 2-3 times to prevent shedding of the material which occurs naturally with our 100% hemp gis.
Shipping & Returns
Your order will ship within 24 hours (36 hours for international) Monday-Friday excluding holidays and pre-orders (which ship by the date mentioned on the product's page). A tracking number will be sent to your email once the order ships.
North America & Canada US shipments range from 2-7 days of transit time between express and economy shipping. For Canada expect a few days to a few weeks.
Overseas shipments:
For International orders express options range from around 7-10 days and average around 3 weeks with economy. Also please understand that customs in your country may charge import fees (although we value our shipments at a fraction of their retail cost) and delay the shipment at their discretion. Hence delivery times are estimates and while we can't guarantee a delivery date 99.9% of packages reach their destination.
*We only ship to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Ukraine by special request due to frequent fraudulent orders from these countries.
Warranty
Datsusara provides a 3 year warranty on bags and a 1 year warranty on fightwear or apparel against faulty manufacturing. If your item breaks due to a fault in manufacturing while under warranty we will repair or replace it free of charge. Please do remember this does not cover natural wear and tear as any natural fiber will wear over time, faster if you are rough on your gear. Datsusara reserves the right to refuse any warranty claim that it deems to be the consumers fault due to misuse, such as loading up bags with C4 or practicing Jiu Jitsu with badgers. That being said at our discretion we may offer you our wear and tear discount which starts at 30% for year 1, 20% for year two and 10% for year 3.§
Exchanges & Returns: We accept most products in their original, odor-free, unused or unworn condition (with any tags) for up to 30 days from the date of shipment, exceptions are t-shirts, rash guards and underwear (which cannot be returned for sanitary reasons).
You may either receive store credit or a refund, less all shipping costs and a $1 restock fee per item (please understand that we are a small company and it would hurt us greatly if we had to pay for shipping expenses and restocking costs on non defective returns).

I have had there battle pack on the jobsite for over 6 years and the bag is still 99% just fadded from washing. Not one tare or stich unwinding. I'm sure this bag will be the same.

For what it is, it gets the job done...but asking anything more if it and the straps are just too flimsy. This design would be perfect with thicker straps akin to the battle pack line, or even duffel bag. Really not feeling the straps on this.

Well worth the price (was able to catch it on sale …should have bought two!). Great as a daily carry,slipped a Nasty Bag in the front pocket,just in case. Very durable and easy to clean.
Awesome gear as usual. I own several of the bags and backpacks for years now and use for martial arts training etc and they remain odourless and pleasant to use. Practice design etc and quality fabrics. I bought this one as the guys had resized the medium bag. I have the original medium size which was too much like the small. I’ve been using the Pro size but wanted something a touch smaller for gym lockers.
I have used this pack for about 2 years now. I can perfectly fit 1 gi, rashguard, belt, and mouthguard in the main compartment. I have a small first aid kit (SAM splint, ice pack, few 2 inch adhesive bandages, 1/4 inch finger tape, tiger balm, and ibuprofen), and a nasty bag in the small front zip. It is a perfect quick portable pack for those not taking many items to train. I love this pack, it has done very well for me. Good for a single training. If you are looking for an all day training bag, or a bag to pack supplies for mama I would recommend looking at the duffel bag like. But for the quick single training sessions this does great. I'm very happy with this bag. It has held up great for me using it 3-5 times a week for the past 2 years.

Perfect for the minimalist lifestyle - I use this for nogi, gym, runs, beer runs, work. I have had mine for almost a year and it virtually shows no wear. Very well made.
It is not a Gi bag. if you managed to fit one in,there wouldn't be a lot of room left for keys, wallet, water. It's good for your rashguards and personal effects only imo.
I use this when I travel as an extra bag. It takes almost no room in my suitcase or other bags and is great for walking around or going to the gym.
I live in europe where it is basically a requirement to carry around a bag for simple things like an umbrella, water, etc. This bag has been incredible for those simple uses and more! I now use it for just about everything. I works for everyday use, going to the gym and even work! I love the straps on it that are set so you don't have to adjust it every time and the straps are wide so they never carve into your shoulders the way other bags with strings would. I highly recommend it!
Been using this one everyday kinda the same way as people use handbags, it always contains my essentials and I alwyas bring it with me. Really great and ultra durable so far. Any stains or whatever somehow disappear along the way as I'm using it, so I've never even considered cleaning it. The size is just really great and you can fit alot of stuff in there if you have to.
Only things I've thought of might be that the strap for opening amd closening sometimes wont stay tight enough and slip up so that there is a few inches wide opening instead of neatly closed. Not sure if it's design or me not using it right tho. Also I personally could go with abit more sidepockets and such, although I get that the spartan design is probably meant to be more clean and straight forward.
All in all best everyday bag I've ever used and I'd recommend it to anyone. Also looks dope as hell.
good bag, very good quality, like the fabric. very easy to use. only thing that u cant fit too much in it, i manage to squeeze my gi ( without pants ) belt, bottle of water and my cell phone and wallet, so I would say that its ok if u do not carry too much with you and also I would consider as a beach bag for yourself only, overall for the price and quality is a match for me
Getting great use for its price. The design is great and the material feels great.
A little undersized. If I put a towel and a ok folded gi in it, I can't really fit anything else (like a book) in there.
The head of the drawstring is giving me some trouble as the spring doesn't push back as it should so I have to manually pull on it to close up the bag.
Love the bag and use it near every day but would have wanted to datsusara make a classic gym bag without the separation of shoulder straps and drawstring.
Love the bag so far! The hemp is very durable and also works well with minimizing odor that can accumulate in other gym bag materials. I use this for work every day to carry extra clothes, water, snacks, wallet and keys. I work outside and this has been working very well. Thank you Datsusara!

what i love most is the blend of the tactical / martial arts world and our most favorite plant
the spartan bag is light itself, and you just have the material in hand. that's how it should be, instead of super stiff gluey industrial nylon.
the smooth zipper has nylon around, the compartment is on the larger side, which i don't dislike.
the slightly lesser quality than seatbelts as shoulderstraps work well, nothing digs in. very good hinge-design and super comfortable to adjust,
the hardware used is great.
the only downside is that the drawstring is a typical cheap chinese cord (replaced it with much sturdier 550 paracord, not too much of a hassle), and the fact that the bag is made in china.
but that is forgiven by the price.
otherwise, for a cord, actual seatbelt material, NOTHING of this design should be changed.
in future generations maybe one or two sizes more of this. you can go larger easily. and i would buy it in a second.
btw: probably one of the first in germany!

I use this bag to throw my nogi gear, water and snacks for my jiujitsu training. It isn't big enough to put my gi in but thats okay. I believe it was never intended to. I love this bag so much that I bought 12 more for my groomsmen to share about the brand and product. Thank you to Datsusara for making a kool ass bag!!
Arrived almost immediately, and is exactly the little bag for no-gi gear that I was looking for.
This is the bag I've been clamoring for. It's great for just throwing a few things in, get up and go!
- Zippered pocket is great for my keys, phone and wallet and other small items.
- For the gym, great for a bottle of water, towel and lifting gloves.
- For dodgeball, enough room for a change of clothes.
- For muay thai, i use it as an additional nasty bag, if necessary, or to keep my clean change of clothes in (within my PGB)
Sometimes, all you need is a little bit of room. This bag has exactly that. I've been using this as a gear bag for work, and on bench press days at the gym. It's spacious enough for a change of clothes, my wrist wraps, ammonia capsules, and a bottle of water. Plus my keys, wallet and ID badge. It's supposed to be light so, if you don't overfill it needlessly, is very comfortable on the back. The shoulder straps are easy to adjust and breath well.
And it looks cool, so you can't really ask for more than that.
