The Datsusara Joe Rogan Utility Belt is a nod to our friend Joe Rogan who loves his fanny packs. Made from our signature hemp blend fabric which is durable, antimicrobial and sustainable. Larger than the Rogan fanny pack version the JRUB is great when you need a bit more gear for your adventures or you don't like having lots of things in your pant pockets. Many of our fans also use these for CC. The JRUB can also attach to any of our bags which feature PALS webbing such as our backpacks and laptop bag.

Care

Bag Care: You will likely never need to wash your Datsusara bag as hemp stays naturally clean due to it's antimicrobial and breathing properties. In case you do we recommend you only hand wash in cold water (cold water prevents material shrinkage) and line dry. It is possible to machine wash the bags but it's tricky and we cannot warranty against damage from machine washing. As for the "Nasty bags" (which are synthetic) we recommend washing them however you like but line dry.

Apparel Care: For apparel you can wash however you want. But don't use any bleach as it weakens the hemp, and do keep in mind the hotter the water and dryer setting the more things will shrink.

For new gis we strongly recommend machine washing at least 2-3 times to prevent shedding of the material which occurs naturally with our 100% hemp gis.

Shipping & Returns

Your order will ship within 24 hours (36 hours for international) Monday-Friday excluding holidays and pre-orders (which ship by the date mentioned on the product's page). A tracking number will be sent to your email once the order ships.

Overseas shipments:
For International orders express options range from around 7-10 days and average around 3 weeks with economy. Also please understand that customs in your country may charge import fees (although we value our shipments at a fraction of their retail cost) and delay the shipment at their discretion. Warranty

Datsusara provides a 3 year warranty on bags and a 1 year warranty on fightwear or apparel against faulty manufacturing. If your item breaks due to a fault in manufacturing while under warranty we will repair or replace it free of charge. Please do remember this does not cover natural wear and tear as any natural fiber will wear over time, faster if you are rough on your gear. Datsusara reserves the right to refuse any warranty claim that it deems to be the consumers fault due to misuse, such as loading up bags with C4 or practicing Jiu Jitsu with badgers. That being said at our discretion we may offer you our wear and tear discount which starts at 30% for year 1, 20% for year two and 10% for year 3.§

Exchanges & Returns: We accept most products in their original, odor-free, unused or unworn condition (with any tags) for up to 30 days from the date of shipment, exceptions are t-shirts, rash guards and underwear (which cannot be returned for sanitary reasons).

You may either receive store credit or a refund, less all shipping costs and a $1 restock fee per item (please understand that we are a small company and it would hurt us greatly if we had to pay for shipping expenses and restocking costs on non defective returns).

Contact dsinfo@dsgear for all warranty/return issues and please provide a picture of the damage along with a description.

Testimonials, Reviews & Product Tour Videos

Customers praised this utility belt's "top quality" hemp material and thoughtful design with multiple compartments. "Great bag, lots of room" said shoppers who valued the organization. Belt loosening and small pocket openings frustrated some. Works as belt bag, attaches to backpacks, and "molds to the body well." Warranty honored after years of heavy use.

Outstanding Product and Guarantee

I got a Joe Rogan utility belt 2 years ago. I wore it every day while I renovated two houses, went to the Caribbean and rode a motorcycle from New Mexico to Maine and back.

I noticed a few weeks ago after constant wear. The bag was pretty beat up and had a couple holes worn through it. Since it is an essential product to me, I went on Datsusara website to order a new one. I noticed they had a warranty on their bags for three years. I reached out and they, replaced my well-worn bag with a brand new one.

I can’t say enough good things about this company. I own several pairs of their fight shorts and two GIs and several other larger bags. I have used Datsusara for about 10 years now and will continue to do so for as long as I am in the game.

Well made and thoughtful design. My first Datsusara product, I hope to work my way up to a GI eventually.

Chris- keep up with the podcast, good stuff, especially the Roy Dean, Rick Ellis, and Robb Wolf episodes.

Great way to extend your pack

Attaches seamlessly to the Datsusara backpack giving me the added space I needed for my extended trips. The quality is top notch and I would highly recommend this attachment.

Great to hear that and see someone using the webbing attachment option. Thank you. -Chris

Great bag, also got the cell phone case and attached it to the belt

Good but needs work.

You can tell it’s great quality. The thing I have the most problem with is the opening size of the main pocket. Putting my cell phone in there with anything else is not easy which in turn makes it hard to get out. The larger ones flap is not needed and is just one more step to get to the items inside.

Best Fanny Around

Do yourself a favor and get this utility belt. I purchased the bigger of the 2 and for how perfectly sized it is, I’m amazed at how many compartments are available. I hate the “black hole” aspect of other fanny packs, so this changed my life and I feel more organized. Bonus that it’s hemp and is going to last forever🖤

Not as well thought out as the price tag suggests

I like the pocket arrangement on the main body of the bag.

I like the large size ( I mean it’s huge so be prepared!)

The fabric is nice and the quality seems high.

The zipper handles and enclosures are also great.

These 4 points are where the positives end for me.

negatives:
-belt loosens extremely easily when taking on or putting on its so crazy and unanticipated. Also the excess belt material is a pain to get into the elastic holders and those come out frequently as well.
-there is no way to minimize the bag when the full size is not in use (some other bags have a lacing that would be useful here)
-the flap that covers the front of the bag just gets in the way most of the time and will likely by cut off (but that’s where the cool logo is!)
-bag does not seem to be waterproof

Many of the cons are solved by cheaper bags. I will keep this for when I need an extra large bag but I’m not 100% happy nore would I recommend this bag to anyone. (The smaller sold out version seems like the better alternative)

Good pack, but difficult to adjust

The method they’ve used to tighten and loosen belt is quite difficult to use on the fly. If you want to adjust it a lot, I wouldn’t buy this belt. It’s fine for set and forget.
The belt also accumulates dust and lint, which shows on the back colour. Lint remover should do the trick.

Good belt. Good materials. Good quality. But room for improvement.

great bag for work, except belt

I love this bag for working in the hospital overrun with CoVID19 patients. It would be nice is the flap were magnetic or easier to close with one hand, and if I didn't constantly have to re-tighten the belt. But the molle holds phones and pager and flashlight, and the bag holds essentials. It also works as a sling.

Nifty!

I've had this hip pack for a week and so far so good! It carries everything I need for the day, and then some! I love all the different compartments and am able to find a place for everything. I also carry it as a sling from time to time and haven't had any problems. Planning to get a Datsusara backpack so I see how well it goes with it. I think the only part I found frustrating was that the webbing attachment strap buckles were somewhat flimsy. They would randomly pop open, which might not be good if I plan to strap this onto the backpack. Might have to find another way to secure it. Other than that, so far it's been a great carry!

Its so practical!

I saw a training partner with one a while back and was in awe of how useful it seemed. Everything he needed was right there. Keys? BAM! Phone? BAM! He even had a small cup of coffee in the bottle holder. As soon as they restocked I picked on up.

I'm so happy.

My wife just offered me the utility bag for my birthday.
And if i didn't yet discover it's full potential, one that i can say iss that the belt is SO COMFORTABLE, the pads distribute the weight perfectly and you dont have the feeling of "my bag is hanged to tight rope" on yourself.
You really don't feel it once you wear it.
Awesome.
Thank you!

One Flaw

It’s great for going on a hike with the dog and doing some errands after. Fits all the essentials. One suggestion (if it’s not coming out in August!) is a way to secure the water bottle to the hip strap. Maybe one of those webbing attachment straps since the strap is already set up for it? It fits my mini nalgene perfectly, but it can’t help but fall forward and stick out. Thanks for all the great stuff!

Fantastic!

I bought this about 2 years ago and it is as strong and stuff as it was the first day I bought it. I've had zero problems with it. It has tons of space and compartments to hold all of your daily need. Fantastic bag!!!

Great bag

Excellent amount of space and pockets. It's awesome how it attaches to the battlepack.

Sturdy butt pack

Like all of the Datsusara packs the butt pack is well made and is both strong and sturdy. My only issue with the pack is the opening to the main compartment being slightly small which makes it difficult to insert or take out items. However, once you do get items in it you can really pack it out. Pack is excellent for carrying multiple small items or even as a first aid bag when camping. Has several smaller pockets to keep items separate, but that is a personal preference as I would have preferred fewer pockets with more space. Although this looks like a nice tactical pack, I would not recommend using this for conceal carry as it can be difficult to get larger objects out of it.

great bumb bag

I love this bag
I have taken it through cambodia and thailand it has made travelling a lot easier.
It could fit my wallet, phone, sunglasses with bulky case, passportand charger and i still have a bit bit of room left.
Good quality zippers and buckles
The only problem i had was that the colour has faded to brown colour and i have only had it for 4 months and my old light battle pack has not faded and its 7 years old .

Buts not a deal breaker because its a great and functional
Thanks for a good product

Excellent Fanny!

This bag is awesome! I've had mine a few years so I am not sure if I have the first or second generation. I orginally only wore this as a joke but somewhere along the line it became a standard part of my attire. I have recently had acl reconstruction, so I am always wearing athletic shorts. The fanny pack holds all my stuff I would possibility want to walk around with, without weighing down my shorts. I even conceal carry in my fanny pack! My inside-the-waistband holster clips perfectly onto the divider of the main pouch. I had no intentions of using this in such a manner when I bought it, but the fanny pack has been very versatile. I will be ordering this new model. The single buckle is a great idea, as I usually only keep one clipped anyway. The only change to the product that I would suggest would be to ditch the water bottle holder. It doesn't function well. The drink weighs down the pack and it is just awkward. A zippered pouch or a velcro flapped pouch would be a handier use of the space, in my opinion. Perhaps on the next model, guys. I hope you guys have a high enough demand for these things to keep producing them. I would be bummed if I couldn't replace mine in the future. Highly recommended product!

Great Little Bag.

This is a great little piece of gear, I use it mainly as a go bag for any odds and ends I might need when I'm away from my car. Another reviewer mentioned the inclusion of a handle, that would be incredible since I really haven't worn it just carry it. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this piece, durable, stylish, and just all around solid. Thank you Chris and Datsusara!

interesting idea on the handle, we'll look into it, and thanks for the great review, glad you like the JRUB overall :)
