We appreciate fungi of all kinds, we also love gis, and a good pun. This special edition gi is made with our signature hemp gi fabric and showcasing artwork honoring our fungi friends. This includes the Algerian Tassili Mushroom Shaman taken from a cave painting created between 7550-5050 B.C., which is one of the the oldest representations of psychedelic mushrooms in the world. You'll also notice a subtle touch on the reinforced knees, a black on black Metatron Cube sacred geometry pattern.
This complex gi simply represents our constant propulsion into evolution as well as our undeniable connection to nature.
The Original Datsusara Combat Gi is the worlds first 100% hemp gi made for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which we have been proudly making since 2008.
Due to the properties of hemp, the gi naturally fights microbes like staph and other nasties, is breathable, very strong, non-toxic and sustainable.
Important notes:
Make sure to machine wash and dry your hemp gi 2 times (cold water for minimum shrinkage and hot for maximum) before use to prevent any shedding of the natural 100% hemp material.
Choose size carefully, considering up to 3% shrinkage in hot water. We can do exchanges but the gi must be in new condition with tags intact. We also do not offer split sizes at this time.

Care
Bag Care: You will likely never need to wash your Datsusara bag as hemp stays naturally clean due to it's antimicrobial and breathing properties. In case you do we recommend you only hand wash in cold water (cold water prevents material shrinkage) and line dry. It is possible to machine wash the bags but it's tricky and we cannot warranty against damage from machine washing. As for the "Nasty bags" (which are synthetic) we recommend washing them however you like but line dry.
Apparel Care: For apparel you can wash however you want. But don't use any bleach as it weakens the hemp, and do keep in mind the hotter the water and dryer setting the more things will shrink.
For new gis we strongly recommend machine washing at least 2-3 times to prevent shedding of the material which occurs naturally with our 100% hemp gis.
Shipping & Returns
Your order will ship within 24 hours (36 hours for international) Monday-Friday excluding holidays and pre-orders (which ship by the date mentioned on the product's page). A tracking number will be sent to your email once the order ships.
North America & Canada US shipments range from 2-7 days of transit time between express and economy shipping. For Canada expect a few days to a few weeks.
Overseas shipments:
For International orders express options range from around 7-10 days and average around 3 weeks with economy. Also please understand that customs in your country may charge import fees (although we value our shipments at a fraction of their retail cost) and delay the shipment at their discretion. Hence delivery times are estimates and while we can't guarantee a delivery date 99.9% of packages reach their destination.
*We only ship to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Ukraine by special request due to frequent fraudulent orders from these countries.
Warranty
Datsusara provides a 3 year warranty on bags and a 1 year warranty on fightwear or apparel against faulty manufacturing. If your item breaks due to a fault in manufacturing while under warranty we will repair or replace it free of charge. Please do remember this does not cover natural wear and tear as any natural fiber will wear over time, faster if you are rough on your gear. Datsusara reserves the right to refuse any warranty claim that it deems to be the consumers fault due to misuse, such as loading up bags with C4 or practicing Jiu Jitsu with badgers. That being said at our discretion we may offer you our wear and tear discount which starts at 30% for year 1, 20% for year two and 10% for year 3.§
Exchanges & Returns: We accept most products in their original, odor-free, unused or unworn condition (with any tags) for up to 30 days from the date of shipment, exceptions are t-shirts, rash guards and underwear (which cannot be returned for sanitary reasons).
You may either receive store credit or a refund, less all shipping costs and a $1 restock fee per item (please understand that we are a small company and it would hurt us greatly if we had to pay for shipping expenses and restocking costs on non defective returns).

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ It's by far the softest GI I've ever put on... Feels like silk and is super lightweight. I poor sweat in my others but this one keeps me dry. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE I've grappled with while wearing it asks me about it and appreciates how soft it is . I will be buying more once I can afford another one.
So far the 2nd most comfortable gi I've ever owned (the first is out of scope in this review), but by far the least smelly and coolest-looking. It fits extremely well. I ordered the A2 and washed 3 times cold. I am 5ft 7in and weigh between 165 and 170 lbs (171 cm tall and ~78 kg, give or take 2 kg on any given day / diet). The fit is perfect for me. My friend ordered an A3 and it fits him perfectly. He is 6ft and probably around 180ish lbs. He had to wash on hot a few times, but the collar is super soft and worn in now, and it's his favorite gi.
If you have the budget, don't miss out on this gi. You won't regret it.

Datsusara is a great company. Their gis are a work of art and textile wizardry. I had trouble with the fit on the pants and Chris has worked with me every step of the way to try and make sure I have a cozy time in the ol murder pajamas. I doubt I will buy a gi from anyone else from now on!

I bought both special editions. It is the beat gi ever! It is so amazing! The design, the material, it doesnt stink after rolling! It is so lightweight but very strong. Our family loves it so much!

Great fit, super comfortable, outstanding durability!! As a white belt, I get my butt handed to me. This gi looks and feels like new at the beginning and end of every class. Can’t say the same for me.
This is my first hemp gi, and first Datsusara purchase. I'm thoroughly impressed. The pants are incredibly comfortable, and feel like (the only way I can describe it) I'm putting on a very nice dress pants. The jacket is honestly pretty similar in feel to other gi jackets ive worn - likely due to the weave. The gi seems very durable and has stood up well while training. I've machine washed in cold water, and dried on ultra low, probably 8 times now and haven't seen any appreciable shrinkage. I forgot to wash my gi immediately after training a few days ago (I sweat profusely) and my wife found it on the floor and thought it had been through the wash and not the dryer because it was wet and didn't stink - I say this to say the anti-stink properties are as-advertised! Finally, im an amateur mycologist. So the fungi theme is a very nice aesthetic touch. Overall, I think the gi is outstanding, and well worth the investment! Easily my favorite gi.
I've used this GI heavily since I got it. Absolutely love it, breathes well and remains odorless. I'll definitely buy another one. Worth entry penny.

SO FAR- love it. Soft, fits well, I’m able to move freely and it breaths well before it’s soaked in sweat.
But the real reason, the only reason why I made the purchase is because of the longevity that they advertise. And only time will tell. It appears to be strong and well stitched. I’ll probably buy another just because they’re so soft. But I’m really anxious to see how long this thing lasts before it starts unraveling.
The Fungi 1 is an incredible gi. I'm 5'11 and 180 lbs, and the A2 worked. I followed all the instructions to ensure minimal shrinkage and maximum colorfastness, and it's great. Any taller and I would recommend that A2L or A3 though, as the sleeves are about as short as I would want them right now.
Psilocybin changed my Jiu Jitsu game significantly, so when I came across this gi from a company I already liked, I was psyched. And, even if you're not a journeyer, this gi just looks awesome! The cool teal accents, the embroidery, all of it...AWESOME. So sage the mats, break out the drum and rattle, and ask the mushroom shaman for blessings.
I’ve been on a quest to find the perfect gi since I started BJJ and have finally found it! This gi looks and feels amazing. I’m selling all my other gis!!
This is my 2nd Datsusara gi and I’m a convert. The gis are light and very comfortable. I’m 5’9” 215 with a muscular build and the A3 fits perfect. Definitely will take a few times in the wash before it stops shedding material. Both of my hemp gis are the first ones I grab for training. I want to grab a white one and some gi pants whenever they’re available.
I’ll start with the aesthetic…when it arrived I was very pleased with the craftsmanship and artwork. Washed it 3 times and one dry on low heat for 10 minutes and the A3 fit me PERFECTLY (5’11/220 lbs). Just had my first roll this morning and I can’t believe how good this gi is!? The only thing that bothers me is it’s not made here in the US, but understanding why, it’s got me thinking of a potential domestic market. Hemp clothing is definitely superior!

I’m not sure if shipping could be any faster!! Very happy with the overall feel of the Gi. It’s my first experience with Hemp and it definitely feels strong. The stitching is well done, no flaws. Sizing was a concern, I am 6’2, 220 lbs and went with the A3 (sizing chart was spot on). Maria was timely and terrific in providing answers to my inquiries. Movement does not feel restricted at all and the Hemp breathes well.. (I sweat a lot). Will definitely keep supporting Chris and his staff, Thank you from Montreal, Canada..
I have owned Datsusara, Bad Boy, Hyperfly, Elite and several other gis. Nothing compares to my hemp gi. It is by far the best comfort, with the stringest materials, yet lightweight. I really love every bit of it! Only wish they had A2L for my lanky butt and I'd have ordered another.
Easily the best gi I've ever purchased. I had saved money for months to be able to buy this gi, and it is the subject of envy from my rolling partners. It holds up to the test of not smelling after several rolls - gets softer every time I wash it. I typically use just vinegar and water to play it safe. It is extremely durable, and lightweight. I notice it the most when rolling in the summer. Save up money to buy this one!
I received my gi very quickly after ordering and I'm not disappointed. The jacket fits really well, but overall is pretty standard as a lightweight gi top. The pants are light and I barely even notice they are there. I can freely move my legs to play more flexible guards (like rubber guard) and they don't bunch or bind at all. I now wear the gi pants to nogi as well just because they are so comfortable and they look great.
The gi needs to be washed a few times before you use it for sure. I washed mine 3 times and hang dried it every time, but it still left black flakes on myself and my training partners the first time I wore it to class. It hasn't since then though, so I'm not upset at it. It isn't as soft overall as I've heard it is, but it seems like it is getting softer every time i wear and wash it.
The main downside is that it is stretchier than most other gis and that makes it easier to get grips. It's good for getting better at breaking your opponents stronger grips, then switching to another gi for competition.

I have the HCG-06 in natural white and I love it but it had one thing that I wanted to improve, the width of the sleeves (quick fix at the tailor). This gi is perfect. The cut is awesome, the colors fantastic, and the sleeve issue is non-existent. If you're holding out for the restock of the black HCG-06 like i was, you may want to consider this. I was too impatient for the restock and I'm so glad I jumped on the Napier. To top it off you get a special nasty bag with the gi which is a nice addition. I've tried over fifteen different brands and I highly recommend Datsusara, this is my new favorite gi.
My package just arrived, and it's really a superb quality. The fit is great (A5), no need for any shrinking. It's in the washer for it's first cold wash right now :)
When I ordered I did have some doubts on the bright green/purple logos on the chest and shoulder, but now that I have seen it, it's really not that bad and actually looks quite good :)
All in all I am more then happy with the product and can definatly recommand this gi to other people! It's definatly superb.

I do gi jiu jitsu atleast 4-7 times a week and I've had a lot of gis and I will say this is one the highest quality gis I've ever worn. The fit is wonderful and the colors are brilliant.
This is an awesome gi, it is very soft and breathable, the fit is perfect and it seems that it is very resitant. I have been using it for a month and the seams are holding pretty good. The only downside i could find is that it produces too much lint but it fixes with a couple of washes.
