The Datsusara Gear Bag 29L is our most compact duffel bag that we designed originally for Crossfit practitioners and BJJ athletes that need a clean and orderly option for all their gear. Made with our signature hemp blend fabric, durable, antimicrobial and breathable.

Care
Bag Care: You will likely never need to wash your Datsusara bag as hemp stays naturally clean due to it's antimicrobial and breathing properties. In case you do we recommend you only hand wash in cold water (cold water prevents material shrinkage) and line dry. It is possible to machine wash the bags but it's tricky and we cannot warranty against damage from machine washing. As for the "Nasty bags" (which are synthetic) we recommend washing them however you like but line dry.
Apparel Care: For apparel you can wash however you want. But don't use any bleach as it weakens the hemp, and do keep in mind the hotter the water and dryer setting the more things will shrink.
For new gis we strongly recommend machine washing at least 2-3 times to prevent shedding of the material which occurs naturally with our 100% hemp gis.
Shipping & Returns
Your order will ship within 24 hours (36 hours for international) Monday-Friday excluding holidays and pre-orders (which ship by the date mentioned on the product's page). A tracking number will be sent to your email once the order ships.
North America & Canada US shipments range from 2-7 days of transit time between express and economy shipping. For Canada expect a few days to a few weeks.
Overseas shipments:
For International orders express options range from around 7-10 days and average around 3 weeks with economy. Also please understand that customs in your country may charge import fees (although we value our shipments at a fraction of their retail cost) and delay the shipment at their discretion. Hence delivery times are estimates and while we can't guarantee a delivery date 99.9% of packages reach their destination.
*We only ship to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Ukraine by special request due to frequent fraudulent orders from these countries.
Warranty
Datsusara provides a 3 year warranty on bags and a 1 year warranty on fightwear or apparel against faulty manufacturing. If your item breaks due to a fault in manufacturing while under warranty we will repair or replace it free of charge. Please do remember this does not cover natural wear and tear as any natural fiber will wear over time, faster if you are rough on your gear. Datsusara reserves the right to refuse any warranty claim that it deems to be the consumers fault due to misuse, such as loading up bags with C4 or practicing Jiu Jitsu with badgers. That being said at our discretion we may offer you our wear and tear discount which starts at 30% for year 1, 20% for year two and 10% for year 3.§
Exchanges & Returns: We accept most products in their original, odor-free, unused or unworn condition (with any tags) for up to 30 days from the date of shipment, exceptions are t-shirts, rash guards and underwear (which cannot be returned for sanitary reasons).
You may either receive store credit or a refund, less all shipping costs and a $1 restock fee per item (please understand that we are a small company and it would hurt us greatly if we had to pay for shipping expenses and restocking costs on non defective returns).

I use this bag for BJJ and it fits everything I need for class perfectly. My no gi gear and my gi fit easily and I’m a big fan of all the pockets. The zippers are top notch too. I have a spot for my mouthguard, belt, phone, keys, and tape. The side pockets are too small for my water bottle if I have my 36 oz Yeti, but if I have a 26 oz or smaller, they fit great. I just go from home to the gym and back, so the size is perfect for me. If I kickboxed or needed to carry more than a class’s worth of gear, I’d get the next size up.
I've been eyeballing one of these bags for about a decade now and finally got around to getting one and I'm completely satisfied, I have one of the backpacks as well. I'm pretty blown away by how soft and supple the fabric is but you can tell it is still very robust and will take plenty of punishment. I do wish there was an option for one of the mesh end pocket went all the way to the top of the bag and was just one open pocket for mat BJJ gym sandals and my regular gym shoes to keep them out of the main compartment but I've come up with a compromise. Any way the bag is awesome... get one.

I've got the largest and smallest gear bags that I use for BJJ and Muay Thai. They both hold all the gear I need for the class I am going to and have held up great over the years. The 29L gear bag holds my A5 Gi along with my NoGi stuff and everything else I need to make it to class. 10/10 bag.

Overall the bag is amazing quality like everything else I've purchased from Datsusara.
I'm building a traveling jump bag for EMS, and when you pair this with the packing cubes (which fit snugly inside) it's basically perfect.
The only thing I would change from a product utility / design perspective are the side nets and lack of attachment loops (like on the lower front-side pouch on your backpacks). Even on one side, it would allow flashlights / clip on tools that don't currently have another spot.
The nets aren't strong enough to hold normal water bottles so they kinda remain useless until I find a glove dispenser/light weight -- non-expensive -- item to fill space.
This is the second one of these I’ve owned, and not due to it wearing out. I gifted one to family and had to get another for myself. These are the best quality bags and the perfect size for the gym. One of those items that is in my life essentials list. Thank you Datsusara.

Love my new bag. It seems to fit everything that I would take to the gym or jui jitsu. I can tell it is very high quality.
I’ve tried 3 different gym bags for a combination of daily weight training as well as jiujitsu training. None have been a good fit. Either they lacked quality to ensure long term durability, or they were unbalanced when loaded with gear, or too bulky and impractical.
I couldn’t be happier with the 29L. The perfect size for daily training. Fits one adult A1 size Gi with room to spare, plus resistance bands, spare shirt/shorts. Material washes easily, pockets in all practical places. Will buy more items from Datsusara. The only gear bags you should invest in.
Most bags we get look great in pictures or when stuffed but I was pleasantly suprised at the build quality and thickness of the Datsusara bag. Definitely will be purchasing more in the future!
This is the perfect sized bag for gym either weights or Jiu Jitsu. I can fit everything I need and the bag is small enough to be easily managed.
On August 30th, my 72 VW Bug was broken into and my Datsusara Gear Bag 29L was stolen. It was Labor Day weekend and it took me a few days to get organized as to what had happened and what I had to do. When it came time to replace my Datsusara Gear Bag, they were "OUT Of STOCK". Was not going to buy another type of bag so I waited impatiently. Received the Gear Bag and have restocked it's contents. It completes my collection of the 62L & 92L Gear Bags. 10 STAR LOVE THEM!!!
Great bag. Excellent build quality. I downsized from the largest bag. This bag is small when filled with an A3 gi. Wish I’d ordered the next size up.

First thing I noticed is the superb quality, despite it been "soft looking" and the multiple compartments are super accessible which makes changing in the gym to put the stuff in so much more convenient. Definitely recommend this!
Too soon to have much more than:
• it fits all I need (JJ)
•seems strong (but haven't put it to the test)
□if it last over 6 months, I'll revisit and drop a 5☆ because I'm hard on gear)
Fantastic duffle! I love it! It's got enough pockets to be useful but not an obnoxious amount. The material, zippers, straps... it's all spot on!
Initially purchased a King Kong Giant Kong bag, but returned it as it was too large / unbalanced and shipping to Canada was both stupidly expensive and slow. Found Datsusara through posts on Reddit including Chris'. Went for the Mini as the Giant Kong and Datsusara Core are similar.
Pleasantly surprised by the Mini's storage though a little smaller than the Ogio Turbulence it replaced and a lot smaller than the Giant Kong. Fully loaded it has good balance. I don't find myself needing to adjust the strap. The accessory tie down straps don't seem to fit the mounts on the bag though.
The main compartment can fit a pair of shoes (Speed Flexweave, could also fit a pair of Legacy Lifters at the same time), Rogue weightlifting belt, mobility tools (3 bands, a Supernova 2.0 ball), hip thrust pad (although this needs to be bent a little). I use one end pocket to store wrist wraps, 2x rope attachments, WODlifts.
The only suggestion/issue I have is on the bottle holders. If the end pockets are full, it's tough to get bottles into the holders, so seems either or on use. And they only cover 1/3-1/2 of a larger bottle like a 40oz Kleen Kanteen or 32oz Blender Bottle. The height/weight of these larger bottles when full means they aren't that secure and have fallen out in transport. I'm putting the bottles in one end pocket as a workaround. A taller pocket with closures like the Nasty Bag might work better - would happily buy the next version if improved. Thank you.
I always look for something to complain about, but this bag is solid. The offset shoulder strap is good thinking.
When we first bought the bags they were intended for gear at tournaments. Instead they have grown to the go to bags for all our travel from visiting family and vacations to tournament road trips. It fits it all and helps you keep organized.
I have the Gear bag Pro and the Battle Pack but sometimes for just straight up BJJ classes those bags are way too much. I ordered the mini and it's just perfect. I usually get ready at home so I don't really have much to carry, mostly my belt, gi top, mouthguard, tape, water, a towel, an extra T-shirt, my wallet, keys, and a small first aid kit. It's great because I don't feel like lugging around so much gear especially when I'm tired. Great little bag I definitely recommend it.
my life was changed when I switched from a regular gym bag to this bad boy. Every pocket has a purpose, the time it takes me to pack up my clothes/gi/nogi stuff has gotten easier, and I love how it holds its shape even when it's empty. I cannot go back to a regular gym bag and Datsusara now has a lifetime customer with me. Great job! five stars. A++++

The size of the GEAR BAG MINI is perfect for me and I use it basically every single day (I have it for one year now).
I use it to go to the gym and inside I put my work clothes, dress shoes and cycling shoes.
It says " MINI" in the name but I would not consider mini... you can fit a lot inside of this bag.
The hemp material is outstanding and the quality is great. No visible damage after one year of use!
It does not smell and you can take it anywhere.
The only "issue" with my model:(GBM-02) apparently was addressed on model (GBM-03).
The shoulder strap parts o model (GBM-02) make some squish noise.
I haven't seen/tried a (GBM-03) but the metal parts should avoid the noise.

I have used this bag since January 2015 and it is still standing up. It fits 2 gis and rashguards, shorts and spats. The side pockets are good for thing that you don't want getting crushed. The front pockets fit tape, antibiotic ointments, etc. Really good bag if you don't want something too bulky. Also, it fits in lots of lockers that I've come across!
